Rejoice!

Let's get back to the subject of running, shall we? At an event last night, I was asked if I was still running. "Yes," I replied, "I'm out there four days a week either running or walking." Someone else threw in the usual "How do you do that? I'd be dead!" comment (eye roll, laughter, sigh). I continued to tell the person asking the question that I do not take it for granted and I am so grateful to be running again. She asked if I had any pain to which I answered, "Mostly no, except when I stand in one spot for too long." She said, "That's great!" Yes! Yes, it is great, and I thank God! I don't know what has shifted for me mentally in the month of September, but this month of running has felt good, and I can say that I have enjoyed most of my runs. That doesn't mean I don't groan when the alarm clock goes off, because my bed is feeling really comfortable, but once I'm out there and back, I feel good!  I h...

Follow the Light

From the events of the past week that made national news (i.e. Charlie Kirk, Iryna Zarutska, Denver, CO school shooting) to an event, involving my niece, that hits very close to home, my heart is left feeling very heavy. If you profess to be a follower of Christ, I think we all were reminded of the spiritual battle between good and evil that takes place all around us. I cannot even begin to comprehend the hate and just plain darkness that exists in this world. John 3:19 (CSB) says, "This is the judgement: The light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil." We were reminded, by our own grieving souls, how God must grieve over His creation on a daily basis.  I'm not going to go into detail, expressing my opinion and I don't want to make this blog very long because I feel like everyone is out there trying to make their voice heard. The only voice I want you to hear is the one of Jesus Christ. In John 8:12 (CS...

Don't Hug a Tree, Hug the Creator

What a beautiful world we live in! I'm not talking about the top news stories, crime rates, different political viewpoints or injustices that occur right before our eyes. Those things are purely ugly battles between good and evil. I'm talking about white, puffy clouds contrasting against a vibrant blue sky, the intricate way a human body fits together as each part performs its individual function, the minute detail in every unique animal and plant. "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." Psalms 19:1 (NIV)   It baffles me how someone can look at creation around them and not believe that someone created it. If you believe that we evolved, where did the first organism come from? If you believe the rapid expansion of space caused energy to convert into matter, when did space come into existence, and how? You can call me uneducated and foolish, but my mind thinks it is more logical to believe that there is a Creator who spoke every...
